After a semi long walk, Audrina and Cloud made it to the library. Audrina picked up Cloud and put him in his dog carrier bag, which was slung around her shoulder like a purse, before going inside. She often put him in his dog carrier bag when in places where dog normally were not allowed, as she thought that people were less likely to be bothered by him this way. She browsed the young-adult fiction shelf’s, searching for a book that looked interesting. One book, titled My Sweet Audrina, stood out, if only just because it had her name in it. She pulled it out and read the synopsis on the back, which made it sounds odd but interesting.
She took it and went and sat down. Once sitting, she let her dog out his carrier bag, so that she could cuddle with him. He lay down in her lap, while she pet the parts of him that were not covered by his emotional-support-pet vest. While cuddling with him, she opened up the paperback book to start reading.

While actually purchasing any books Hiroko planned to read was the closest thing she had to a golden rule, libraries were useful to circumventing that rule. Many books that could be found on these shelves Hiroko knew she'd have a devil of a time finding anywhere but an online website. Purchasing a book online seemed alien to her, like buying shoes online, how would you know if they fit? Sure, they gave your short previews of what the first few pages were about but only bookstores and libraries gave you the advantage of jumping around through the book or even, scandalously, reading the entire book without the need of removing it from the building.
Blinking, Hiroko looked up from the book she held open in her hands. Her thoughts had runaway from her there, instead of focusing on the words in the book. With a barely audible sigh, she slide the book back into it's proper spot where she had found it even though many of the books were out of order. Ignoring the slight need to fix this indiscretion, Hiroko left the history section, having found nothing of more interest then a book about the 'so called' Dark Ages and internal debates about the proper way of looking at that time of history.
After a brief time of glancing at the different sections she slowly passed, Hiroko found the young adult section of the library. This category of books would be consider beneath Hiroko's time, if she cared much about those types of things. With the club only open two nights a week and the preparations easily done the days leading up to Friday and Saturday. Pacing down a few of the aisles, it wasn't a book that eventually caught her eyes, not really at least. It was a young girls, probably early teens, sitting there quietly with a book in hand and a dog in a bag next to her. The scene almost brought a smile to Hiroko's face if the thought of 'are pets even allowed in here?' didn't pass through her mind at the same time.
Sauntering towards the girl, leaning forward a little to catch the name of the book in her hands, Hiroko nodded slightly. It was a book she had read before, a few years ago. Instead of pondering about that, it was time to get that question answered by the young girl who either already knew the rule or was bold enough to flout it. "Excuse me," Hiroko said in a politely subdued tone to not infringe upon the unspoken rule of library quietness, "I was simply curious about your dog there," She noted the dog with a gesture towards it with her right hand, palm up. "Is it allowed inside here?"

Audrina owned few books, and got most of her reading material from the library. She could not afford to just buy a book whenever she wanted to read one, and she would not want to spend so much money on books even if she could. Her aunt was also not willing to buy so many books, and her parents never would have either.
She always liked to start reading a book before she checked it out. How the beginning was, was usually a good indicator of how the rest of a book would be. She did not want to risk taking a book home and then not liking it, because then she would have to come all the way back to get a new one.
Audrina felt that it was safe to let her dog out of the bag, once she sat down. This was because she did not think he could get close enough to anyone to risk upsetting them, while he was sitting on her lap. There were some people who saw him and seemed upset by his mere presence, but her and her dog could not help that. According to both her aunt and her therapist, that was their problem and not hers, and she tried to believe that.
Audrina had had Cloud for a little over a year. During that time, there were a few instances in which someone would question whether he was allowed somewhere, but not many. She always made sure that he was wearing his service-dog-vest whenever they went somewhere where dogs normally were not allowed or might not be. Her dog carrier bag even had a window on the side of it so that it was still visible.
She looked up at the women who spoke to her, wide-eyed and nervous. She nodded, looking down while doing so. She saw that her arm was mostly blocking Cloud’s vest. She moved her arm, so that the women could see it, and pointed to it.
