[attr="class","textieno"]Business under the week was definitely slower than on weekends. But that was always the case because people had to work. Of course there were exceptions like workers getting off work after work to enjoy a drink or two. That was one thing Caleb liked about his bar. It was a place for everyone to enjoy. Sure it was mostly visited by university students and young people but older people enjoyed grabbing a drink there as well. It was just a comfortable place to be. And that was what he wanted to achieve. Caleb didn't want to have some fancy bar where only the high society could mingle, he wanted something where everyone could mingle - with the exception for underage kids. [break][break]
This thursday wasn't much different from the other weekdays. He was just about to finish mixing the perfect gin tonic for one of the customers when he noticed some papers lying on one of the empty tables. While he was pouring the clear liquid into a clean glass he tried to think of who sat there before. It couldn't have been that long that the table was unoccupied. Caleb was usually good at remembering faces, especially of customers, since they tended to forget their belongings a lot - especially the drunk ones. He was so used to returning things like cell phones, wallets and keys as well as IDs that he didn't have much of a problem remembering the person who sat there. He was sure it was a blonde girl. After he finished putting some decorations on the glass like a sugar coated rim and a piece of cucumber he put it in front of him on the counter with a smile. "Enjoy." he said. [break][break]
Wiping his hands on his small apron he walked over to the table with the stack of paper on it. At first he thought it was just a bunch of adverts or documents but as he took it he noticed it looked more like a manuscript for some kind of book. Chapter ## it said. Taking it back to behind the counter he couldn't stop himself but flip through the pages to find out if there was any information about its owner. But there wasn't. So instead he started to read from the beginning to see what it is about because maybe it could contain clues or maybe it was some kind of lecture script. It wasn't.[break][break]
As soon as he finished the first two pages he was already sucked into the story. It was indeed a fictional story - perhaps a chapter of a book. Caleb wasn't really the kind of person to read fictional or fantasy stuff and was more interested in thrillers but this one was different. "Ugh no..." he suddenly yelped as he accidentally poured the drink out of a cocktail shaker because he didn't close it properly - and of course it was over the papers. The white was now covered in red because it just happened to be a Bloody Mary. He just started the paragraph where the king of the story was introduced and now all he was able to read was the name of said king. "Caspar." he mumbled as he swiped off the remaining cocktail off the manuscript. What a shame, he thought. But at least he had gotten to the paragraph about the main character...[break][break]
